LOT-EKArchitect

Drivelines Studios was designed in the United States by LOT-EK and built in Maboneng, Johannesburg — a multistorey containerised building showcasing the upcycling of shipping containers for low-cost, high-design housing. The finished building uses 140 upcycled shipping containers across seven storeys.

Twistlock Africa assisted LOT-EK with the design and integration of twistlocks to facilitate the quick and safe erection of the structure during construction — a showcase of using shipping containers far beyond transport and storage.

Architecture: LOT-EK. Structure: Silman and Asakheni Engineers.
