Dry Mining Unit, Senegal
Twistlock Africa supplied the boltable twistlocks securing the containerised control room to the chassis of a mobile Dry Mining Unit (DMU) developed and supplied by ADP for mining Ilmenite deposits in the Sahara Desert.
The Dry Mining Unit (DMU), developed and supplied by ADP, is a mobile machine able to traverse the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert, giving the end user the ability to mine pockets of concentrated Ilmenite deposits off the path of the main floating concentrator, which supplies the DMU with the water and electricity required to pulp the mined sand and return it to the main plant for concentrating.
Twistlock Africa supplied the boltable twistlocks required to secure the containerised control room to the chassis of the dry mining unit, providing the interface between the container and the DMU's frame.
