A chemical anchor is only as good as the hole it bonds into, which is why the drilling and cleaning equipment is specified alongside the rods and resin rather than assumed. Drilling dust left in the hole is the most common reason a chemical fixing fails to reach its rated capacity — the brush and blow-out kit is part of the installation, not an accessory. On a handful of fixings a manual dispenser will do; on a contract, the pneumatic dispenser and a rotary hammer pay for themselves in a morning.
