Container lifting with cranes via top corner castings; used with shackle and chain/sling lashing equipment; pairs of 2 or 4.
Inserts into the top corner casting and twists to lock, with a black safety slider dropping into place to prevent accidental removal while in use — lift the slider, twist 90° and pull out to remove. As certified lifting equipment it must not be dropped and should be used only for container lifting, always in pairs of two or four with the appropriate shackle and chain or sling. The 56-tonne rating is for a complete set of four lugs working together, not a single unit.
