Similar to a double-ended manual twistlock, stacking cones are inserted between 2 containers when stacked. This ensures that they are secured and prevents the containers from falling off or over in windy conditions.
Stacking cones are available in different configurations, namely single, double (side by side and transverse) and quad. Tight fit options are also available. These different configurations allow for the interconnection between containers that are installed alongside each other. The standard cones comply with industry pitches or distances between containers. Twistlock Africa has developed a tight fit unit that can be installed when containers are installed right next to each other and a zero tolerance or gap is required.
Twistlock Africa’s stacking cones offer an increased positive engagement. This is because the section of the cone that slides into the corner casting provides additional peace of mind that the top container will not move while stacked in adverse weather conditions.
