This twistlock is the industry-standard unit widely used in the African trucking industry. Its core retracts into the body so the twistlock does not protrude through the trailer deck when the trailer is used for other purposes, and the core can be replaced — without removing or modifying the twistlock body — should it be damaged. It comes standard with a long handle, customisable to suit. Installation requires a penetration cut into the trailer deck, with the top plate welded into position. Alternatively, these twistlocks can be welded directly onto a structure that is then lowered onto a container: the twistlocks engage the corner castings and the handle is turned to lock them in place. The SKU shown covers the single unit; a double variant is available on request under its own SKU.
